Root Canal Therapy — Coventry & Vernon
Make Comfort a Priority
Bacterial infections that travel to the inside of the tooth can cause irritation to the nerve, often creating pressure and discomfort for patients. Difficulty biting, chewing, or sensitivity to hot and cold are all common signs that there may be an infection in the nerve center of your tooth. Drs. Hadden and Whidden provide endodontic treatment, or root canal therapy, at their Vernon and Coventry practice. This procedure involves a sequence of treatments for the nerve center (pulp) of a tooth which results in the elimination of infection and future protection of the tooth from another bacterial invasion. This set of unique procedures is commonly referred to as a "root canal." Root canals and their associated pulp chamber are the spaces within a tooth that are filled with nerve tissue, blood vessels and lymphatics. Endodontic therapy involves the complete removal of these structures and the subsequent cleaning, shaping, and decontamination of the remaining spaces. The new decontaminated spaces are then filled with a unique filling material which seals the spaces and prevents future bacterial invasion.
At our Vernon and Coventry practices, root canal therapy can be completed in one simple visit. Our patients take comfort in knowing that their treatment will be done efficiently and comfortably, and utilize the latest dental technologies. If you are uncomfortable when chewing, eating, or can't drink hot and cold liquids because of sensitivity, please call our office today. We look forward to working with you.
